Aris Constantinides
Aris is the founder and Investment Director of NBGI Ventures, responsible for its overall strategy and management, and leads its presence in the medical technology sector. Aris established NBGI Ventures in 2001, following five years in venture capital with Deutsche Bank’s venture capital team and CSFB’s Cabot Square Capital fund. He started his career at Bankers Trust as a derivatives specialist.
Aris holds a B.Eng from Imperial College and a SM from MIT in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from INSEAD.
Gerard Harper
Gerard joined NBGI Ventures from Nomura Code, where he was VP Corporate Finance and worked on a broad range of transactions including IPOs, secondary fundraisings, and M&A mandates mainly involving small-cap life science companies. Prior to that Gerard worked in communications and strategic planning consulting to the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
Gerard received a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology & Physiology from the University of Manchester and an MPhil in Bioscience Enterprise from the Judge School of Management at the University of Cambridge.
John Milad
John has nearly 20 years’ experience in private equity, venture start-ups, corporate finance and the healthcare industry. He is an Investment Director of NBGI Ventures and serves on several portfolio company boards. He is also a member of the i4i selection panel of the NHS National Institute for Health Research and is an advisory board member of Connect Digital Health.
His previous roles include founding the advisory boutique Insight Capital, serving as CFO at Nitec Pharma, being a Special Advisor to Atlas Venture and leading healthcare corporate finance transactions at Nomura International in London. He started his career as an investment banker at Lehman Brothers in New York, followed by private equity investment experience at Kirkland Investors. John is a graduate of the University of Chicago.
Stéphane Sallmard
Stéphane is the Business Development Advisor at NBGI Ventures, assisting portfolio companies on commercial and strategic decisions. Most recently Stéphane was the CEO of Optos Plc, which he grew from $1M to $67M in sales over 5 years and listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2006. He started his career as a System Engineer at IBM Finance and has held several senior executive positions at Wang France and General Electric Medical Systems.
Stéphane holds a diploma form Ecole Supérieure d’ Electrcité Industrielle de Paris and completed the Executive Management program from Kellogg School of Management (Chicago).
James Wong
James joined NBGI Ventures with a background in strategy consulting and due diligence. He was previously part of the management consulting team at Cambridge Consultants, bringing experience advising corporate and financial clients on strategic business issues in medical technology, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Since joining NBGI Ventures, James has been involved in the Fund’s new investments, follow-on financings and portfolio company management.
James holds a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry from Royal Holloway, University of London, and an MPhil in Computational Biology from Wolfson College, University of Cambridge.
