NBGI’s real estate fund has increased its stake in The Mall, Sofia’s largest shopping centre. NBGI first acquired 4% share in The Mall in September 2008, when it was still under development. The fund has since made two further investments in 2010, bringing its stake up to 15.5%.

The Mall, located on the main boulevard leading from the city centre to the airport, opened doors on 21^st April 2010 and has since become Sofia’s premier retail destination. It has a gross lettable area of 51,500 sqm and is 99% occupied. It houses the Bulgarian flagship stores of several international retailers. The development also houses the first Carrefour store in the country and about 69,000 sqm of office space (not part of The Mall).

The fund owns this property along with two other co-investors.
